Rosehill Isocyanates

Rosehill's in-house engineers have designed and built a continuous reactor production plant to manufacture MDI based prepolymers. Our reactor produces prepolymers that have a higher degree of low temperature stability, capable of withstanding minus 30°C, and improved mechanical properties when compared to batch manufactured prepolymers.

Low Temperature Isocyanates

Our new i26 Series of low temperature isocyanates overcome isocyanate stability issues associated with standard and prepolymer intermediates when stored or transported at temperatures below 15°C. The Flexilon i2670, for example, can be transported in bulk without heating and is storage stable down to temperatures as low as minus 20°C, with the added benefit of improved mechanical properties.

The advantages of Rosehill's Flexilon i2670 Isocyanate compared to two other leading standard isocyanates is set out in the table below:

The use of Rosehill's continuous reaction process eliminates the formation of unwanted reaction products of MDI, such as dimmer and unreacted MDI isomers. This is achieved by efficient mixing of MDI and polyol components at the required reaction temperature. Our Flexilon i2670 has a higher 2,4' MDI content which exhibits superior low temperature stability.

The Potlife comparison at 90°C versus a leading competitor is outlined in the graph below:

The Flexilon i2670 is made continuously which creates a product with an exceptionally narrow molecular weight distribution. It has superior tensile strength, elongation at break and tear propagation strength when utilised in standard systems. If you require more information, please call to discuss your individual needs.
